The Academy is a series of illustrations where I imagined little stories about my memories about AKV| St. Joost, the art academy in Den Bosch, The Netherlands, during my course. I collected these illustrations and stories in a book.

The building felt alive and had a happy atmosphere. At daytime, when I walked around, I saw the other students and my friends. I was wondering how the building would look and feel like without the people. I discovered a less happy and mysterieus place, when I wanted to find out. In my illustrations I create this mysterious and almost empty feeling, by using lots of contrasts between shadow and light, and unusual perspectives.
